Categories help you organise your product catalogue into logical groups. Products can belong to multiple categories, making it easier for customers to find what they’re looking for and for you to manage large catalogues.

Creating categories

To create a category, you just need a name. Category names must be unique within your supplier account, but the system treats them as case-insensitive, so “Electronics” and “electronics” are considered the same.
When importing products via CSV, categories referenced in the import will be automatically created if they don’t already exist.

Category types

Categories can be one of three types:
The “New” and “Featured” category types are useful for highlighting specific products to customers. Use them to showcase new arrivals or promote particular items.

Assigning products to categories

You can assign products to categories in two ways:
  • From the product page, by selecting one or more categories
  • From the category page, by selecting multiple products and assigning them in bulk
Products can belong to multiple categories, so you can organise them in different ways. For example, a product might be in both “Electronics” and “Sale Items”.
Bulk assignment is the fastest way to organise a large catalogue. Create your categories first, then assign products to them in groups.

Viewing products by category

To see all products in a specific category, open the category from your categories list. You’ll see a filtered view of all products assigned to that category. You can also filter your main products table by category using the category filter column.

Updating or removing categories

You can edit a category’s name at any time. If you need to remove a category, you can delete it. Deleting a category removes it from all products but doesn’t delete the products themselves.
Deleting a category removes it from all assigned products. The category itself is permanently deleted, unlike sales accounts which are archived.
